What happened

This time we were not so lucky as during 3A expedition.
First a really bad WX condition: raining continuosly each day with temperatures down to few degree.
Then some initial problems to our elevation system: now we understand that a KR500 elevator is not enough for our system because too sensible to weight balancing of the H frame.
But what was the main problem happened on sunday early morning: our power amplifier, an hungarian built with a single GS35, without any reason gone in failure.
After some hours of tentatives we understood that the capacitor of plate resonator circuit was burnt.
We obtained then the precious aim of  local  I4 OM's, so I4GOC gave us a new similar capacitor to replace the damaged one.
The amplifier were repaired just few minutes before that Moon set down behind the San Marino rock, at 20deg of elevation more or less.
Encouraged by the solved problem, we were ready for coming MS and EME skeds on sunday night.
IW1AZJ, Silvio was able to complete each MS sked during that night, using the PA at reduced power for HSCW MS.
But when I started with EME, after few minutes the PA seems to not carrying out full power and then, after a tentative to retune it, also the second 14kV capacitor exploded.
This was the final shot: it was clear that there were no chance to continue and so, on monday morning, started to disassemble the system.

We are very sorry for all guys who were waiting for our signal coming up of the noise, loosing their time without sleeping, but what happen was out of our intentions.
For the future, we will recalibrate our ideas (expecially regarding the absolute needing of some redundant parts) on how to organize the equipments.
Considering also the good relationship with local OMs is our intention to give to EMEers another chance to work T7: maybe next year, who knows.

It's all for now; many thanks again for your patience.

Our apologize again with all EME folks and...see you soon to everybody

Steve, IZ1BPN & all TVD gang.
